You may want to try connecting the Seagate Central in a different outlet.Hi Symon, Maybe you can check "status" led illustration from user's manual.

Make sure the power cable is connected properly. No light: The Seagate Central is not getting any power. If after the drive boots you still have a flashing red light, try another Ethernet cable. Reconnect both cables and check the LED status again. They told me, quite astonishingly, that this is a known limitation with the product. At this point I was escalated all the way to top support at Lacie. With 15 seconds of plugging in the d2, the red light started blinking and the RAID crashed. If available, you may also want to try a different port on your router, as well as a different outlet for the power supply. I finally bought a LACIE d2 and plugged it into the e-sata port (i had mostly been using USB until now). Make sure the other extremity of the Ethernet cable is plugged all the way in the router.

Once unplugged let it sit for 5 to 10 seconds, then plug everything back in. If you still see a blinking red light after 7-10 minutes, power cycle the Central by unplugging both the Ethernet cable and the power cable.

Solid Green: The Seagate Central is connected to your network and ready to use.īlinking Red: The Seagate Central is not connected to your network. If available, you may also want to try a different port on your router. Ensure it is connected all the way in at both ends. If you still see a blinking green light after 7-10 minutes, make sure all cables are plugged in properly, especially the Ethernet cable. If you still have a solid amber light on the top of the Seagate Central after 7-10 minutes, try unplugging the drive from power and connect the power supply into a different outlet, if possible.īlinking Green: The Seagate Central is in the process of powering on. Solid Amber: The Seagate Central is powering on. Before trying to determine the status of the LED, Seagate recommends waiting 7-10 minutes to give the drive a chance to boot all the way up. During that time, the LED will blink different colors, including amber and red. Note: The Seagate Central takes about 3-4 minutes to boot when first connected to power.

If the power light stays amber the software test failed. Amber indicates the modem is performing onboard software tests.
